Nawaz has been a practicing attorney since 2013 and CPA since 2005. He has extensive experience in tax, estate planning, probate, business transactions, M&A, finance, employment agreements, executive compensation, ESOP formations and trustee fiduciary obligations.
Nawaz has advised and represented companies and business owners in entity formations, tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, executive benefits and stock options, and succession planning including estate planning, wills, trusts, and family limited partnerships.
Nawaz has worked on numerous ESOP transactions from establishing an initial ESOP, transitioning from minority ESOPs to 100% ESOPs to sale and mergers of ESOP-owned companies and termination of the ESOP. Nawaz advises ESOP trustees in transactions and ongoing fiduciary obligations.
Nawaz has helped numerous estate executors and administrators in probate starting from filing the initial application in probate court, distributing the estate assets to the rightful heirs and finally closing the estate administration.
Nawaz obtained his Masters in Taxation from the University of North Texas and his JD from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
Nawaz is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, the NCEO and a professional member of the ESOP Association.
